Work, Wellness & Beyond: Why Choose White Rose Park?

By White Rose Park April 2024

Did you know that on average, we spend a third of our waking lives at work? That’s a lot of time to spend at the office!

As more and more people return to the office or embrace hybrid work arrangements, the importance of the workplace experience becomes increasingly apparent. It’s not just about clocking in and out – it’s about creating an environment where your employees thrive, feel valued, and enjoy being there every day. From wellness facilities to sustainable practices, we’re dedicated to ensuring White Rose Park not only benefits those who work here, but enriches the surrounding community too. With amenities that set us apart and plenty of plans for the future, here’s a roundup of a few of the things that make White Rose Park unique.

Fitness and Wellness Offerings

Your employees deserve more than just a desk and a computer – they deserve access to comprehensive wellness facilities that make coming into work a little bit more interesting.

With the growing emphasis on work-life balance, it’s crucial for workplaces to provide amenities that support holistic health and wellness. Studies show that over 90% of business owners believe wellness initiatives can improve employee performance and productivity. When your team feels happy, healthy, and content at work, they’re more likely to produce high-quality work and contribute positively to your business.

Plus, prioritising wellness and work-life balance not only helps retain current staff but also attracts new talent to your organisation. At White Rose Park, we’ve taken workplace wellness to the next level, here’s how:

Outdoor Training Park

Forget the hassle of rushing to the gym after work with our Outdoor Training Park. It’s like having a modern, fully-equipped gym in your back garden, minus the membership fees. Whether your team wants to squeeze in a workout before the work day or feel the burn during lunch, it’s the easiest way to do things on a schedule that suits them.

Plus, with our weekly PT sessions led by expert trainers, everyone on-site can personalise their fitness journey and reach their goals without spending a penny. Investing in employee fitness also helps to boost morale, reduces stress, and increases overall productivity.

Yoga, Running Club, Walk & Talk

To start the week on the right note, your team can head to our Mindful Monday yoga sessions. Led by experienced instructors, these sessions offer a tranquil escape from the busy workday, allowing employees to recharge, refocus and find their inner peace. Yoga is known to improve focus and concentration, helping your employees get into the right mindset for work.

Prefer something a little more active? We’ve got it covered. Our Monday morning Running Club is the perfect way to kick off the week on a high and forge friendships with fellow colleagues along the way.

But if they’d rather slow down the pace a little, our Friday afternoon Walk & Talk sessions offer the perfect opportunity to unwind, get moving, and connect with colleagues – all while soaking up some sunshine and enjoying the peace of the Wildflower Meadow.

2G Sports Pitch

For those who thrive on friendly competition, our 2G multipurpose sports pitch is the perfect setting to ensure your team brings their a-game. Whether it’s football, basketball, or any other sport under the sun, our pitch is ready and waiting for your next match. And it’s not just for individual use – local sports teams are welcome to book the pitch for their activities too, fostering a sense of community both on and off the field.

Wellbeing App and Seminars

We believe that true wellbeing extends beyond physical fitness – it’s about nourishing the mind and the body. That’s why we’ve partnered with the pros at zeno to bring our free Wellbeing app to people on-site at White Rose Park – packed with resources on fitness, nutrition, and expert advice.

Additionally, we host regular seminars led by wellness experts, such as our very recent “Behaviour Change” seminar delivered by Kevin Meredith that taught attendees how to adopt and maintain healthy habits. Because when your team feels their best, they can do their best work, leading to increased creativity, productivity and overall success for your business.

Building a Community

We’d be nowhere without our community. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to support those within our White Rose Park community and the wider Leeds region. We’re keen to nurture talent, support charities and foster community spirit.

We always like to have regular visits from local or (even national!) businesses, to keep the work week interesting and ensure your team gets the most from White Rose Park. For example, we have the Caffé Aperitivo coffee truck on-site twice a week, serving up freshly-brewed coffees and pastries.

Similarly, we have The Eco House setting up shop in The Hub every month, bringing a range of sustainable household and beauty products to shop. They encourage everyone to bring their empty bottles and refill them on the spot, reducing waste and minimising your employees’ environmental footprint. The Eco House team is also on hand to educate and provide top tips for living sustainably.

Regular visitors, talks and events serve as opportunities for collaboration, bringing the entire community together from a range of different businesses that work within the Park. For instance, we previously hosted a Hackathon at White Rose Park, where innovators and digital enterprises came together to network, collaborate on projects and delve into discussions about smart city solutions.

Joining White Rose Park means more than just leasing office space – it’s about becoming part of a dynamic community where partnerships can thrive. From scaling start-ups to renowned global brands, you’ll find yourself among like-minded, forward-thinking businesses.

Whether it’s participating in events like the Hackathon or casual encounters in our shared spaces, being part of our diverse community offers access to a wealth of expertise and resources. It’s an environment where collaboration is encouraged and opportunities for growth are endless.

Focus on Sustainability: Creating a Greener Future

While we’re keen to ensure White Rose Park is a thriving environment today, we’re equally committed to laying the groundwork for a sustainable tomorrow.

As a business owner, having your office in a place that prioritises sustainable practices is essential. It helps build your brand’s reputation, reduces your carbon footprint, and attracts environmentally aware employees who share your values. That’s why our commitment goes far beyond token gestures – it’s a comprehensive approach to sustainability that touches every aspect of our operations.

Take, for example, our proactive promotion of clean energy usage throughout the Park. With EV charging stations, access to greener transportation options and using renewable energy to power the Park, we’re working hard to reduce our carbon footprint.

But sustainability isn’t just about reducing emissions – it’s also about preserving biodiversity. That’s why we’ve designed areas within White Rose Park to provide habitats for natural wildlife, including bug hotels and our beautiful Wildflower Meadow. Plus, our two beehives which are home to over 16,000 bees! This adds a touch of nature to our office campus and also helps protect our ecosystems too.

At White Rose Park, we believe that collective action is the key to driving positive change. That’s why we’re actively aligning our sustainability efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, working towards the ambitious target of achieving net zero emissions by 2030. By joining forces with like-minded organisations and individuals, we’re paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future.
